Jane Kidd is an internationally recognized tapestry weaver. She was on the faculty of the Alberta College of Art and Design for 34 years. She currently lives on Salt Spring Island in B.C. were she maintains an active studio practice. Her tapestries have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Canada, The United States, Japan, Poland, Hungary and Australia and she has lectured extensively on her own work, contemporary tapestry and the value of disciplinary knowledge. She was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Art in 2001 and was awarded the Alberta Craft Council Award of Excellence in 2008.
